All lawyers know the law of contracts. We know the law of contractors.
We know the dynamics of the players, the schedules, and the personalities.
We know the problems that plague contractors as well as the pride
felt in a job well done. We know because our construction law practice
is built upon a foundation of engineering knowledge and first-hand
project management experience. This uncommon insight allows us to
represent national, regional and local contractors, design-builders
and construction managers effectively and efficiently.
We counsel contractors on issues pertaining to bids, bonds, contracts
and insurance. We work with standard form contracts (AIA, AGC, DBIA,
FAR, EJCDC-modifying key provisions to protect our clients' interests)
and we draft specific contracts to meet unique project demands.
And when a dispute or claim cannot be avoided, we are aggressive
advocates. Our knowledge of the industry and the mechanics of the
process allows us to distill for Judges, juries or Arbitrators the
three-dimensional concepts and schedule impact analyses common to
construction disputes.
Finally, we are dedicated to improving the role of contractors
within the industry through education. We are active members in
multiple construction trade groups, and we regularly provide educational
construction law sessions through these and other professional organizations.
